For expedition assessors who want a clear understanding of their role as a DofE Expedition Assessor; the ‘Seven Steps’ to assessment’; and the recent changes to the Award conditions and requirements.
The course is suitable both for DofE workers wishing to progress to the role of expedition assessor; and DofE leaders with previous experience of assessing DofE groups but who require accreditation under the new Award conditions and requirements. Applicants must be aged 18 years or over.
By the end of the course delegates will have the knowledge to ensure that their expeditions meet the DofE’s conditions and requirements.
Pre-requisites:-
- A completed and signed EAAS3 form, which must include an endorsement of your technical competence from your Operating Authority's Outdoor Education Advisor (click here for guidance notes).
- Completion of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Expedition Assessor Accreditation Scheme pre-course learning, including the Gold module for those intending to assess in wild country areas.

- Completion of the DofE e-induction
- Registration of your personal details and experience on the Adventurous Activities Leader's database, including a current enhanced CRB check and First Aid certificate.
